Michael Schaeffer

Foreman

I found my home with Rhino three years ago and can’t wait to enter my first year as a foreperson. I grew up in southwestern Ontario and although I miss all the lakes, portaging around, this new home in the mountains is pretty alright. I enjoy solving problems before they come but still letting life be an adventure, looking forward to the memories and lessons in the coming years.

Ryan Yango

Foreman

Hi I'm Ryan! Remember to plant quality trees, don't take long cache breaks, and most importantly: only good vibes on this side baby! I've been a foreman for 6 years and love the job more and more every season that passes.

Tyler Altwasser

Project Manager

During the planting season Tyler oversees the contract as Project Manager. Spends his winters froliking in the snow running a Cone Picking crew. Crew Leader during fire season for Mop-up crews. One thing he couldn't live without - Music.

Fiddler of stringed instruments. Don't be surprised if you catch him singing in the office.

Jordan Quigley

Foreman

I have been involved with tree planting since 2009 on and off so this will be my 8th planting season, Although this will be my first season as a foreman. I'm also involved in a lot of the post season work whether that's Brushing or Cone picking. I'm a wannabe musician in my spare time so when I'm not busy at camp you usually find me playing my guitar

Shawn Cawley

Foreman

I have been involved with the silviculture and forestry industry since 1990. During that time I have had involvement with most aspects of the silviculture profession with over a decade of experience running forestry crews. I have enjoyed meeting and working with many people during that time and the diverse range of great people that you encounter and get to work with has always been a rewarding experience for me. At Rhino Reforestation treating people fairly and working towards a common goal is a rewarding culture we look to continue for the benefits of the worker, company, clients and silviculture community.

Dan Kalem

Foreman

Transitioned from sports to planting trees in 2012 and have been focused on getting better since.Every year is an opportunity to learn something new and this is a job where we do just that!

It is my second year foremaning and I couldn't be happier to work with people who I consider top tier professionals while having that fun Rhino flare that sets us apart from the rest of the industry.

George Momchilov

Project Manager

George Momchilov has been in silviculture for nearly a decade. He has been a foreman and supervisor for numerous projects. His goal is to always be the hardest working person and to deliver results no matter what gets thrown his way.

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." - Robert A. Heinlein

Cynthia Letourneau

Checker

Cynthia has been at rhino since 2015, after planting and foremaning she became the company checker. She enjoys her winters in Mexico and is a key component of the health and safety program.

Frank Babuya

Foreman

I was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and moved to Canada to pursue my studies. I now reside in Gatineau Quebec.

I love working outdoors and all sorts of physical activity.

I started working at Rhino as a Planter in 2009 and played many roles over the years as Rookie trainer, driver and assistant foreman. In 2016 I decided it was time to hang up my bags and start Crew bossing full time, I enjoy the everyday challenges and look forward to an awesome 2021 season.

Jonathan Dudar

Cook

With 28 laps around the sun, and 14 years experience in Professional Kitchens, I’ve never appreciated cooking more than I do in camp with Rhino Reforestation. Returning for my fifth season, the excitement builds every year. How spoiled I am to have a second family. I love Music, community, and feeding Hippies. Bless ups.
